Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

A fatal accident occurred on July 19, 2025, at 2:20 a. m. , when a male passenger on an electric scooter fell into the roadway and was struck by a semi-truck in Spokane. The operator of the scooter fell onto the sidewalk while the passenger lost his balance and fell into traffic. The semi-truck driver stopped to help, and both police officers and Spokane Fire personnel attempted life-saving measures on the victim.

Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the male died at the scene. The driver of the semi was found to be cooperative and showed no signs of impairment. After the incident, law enforcement closed the area for several hours to conduct a thorough investigation. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office is set to release the deceased's name at a later date. This incident highlights ongoing safety concerns regarding electric scooters on roadways and sidewalks in urban areas.
