Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will start various improvement projects on July 21 that will significantly impact local traffic. South Freya Street will close between 13th Avenue and 21st Avenue to replace over 3,000 feet of water main, along with street surface repairs and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps. Detours will utilize Hartson Avenue, South Ray Street, and East 29th Avenue, while ensuring local access for residents. Meanwhile, South Lincoln Street will see intermittent work throughout the summer to rehabilitate swale plantings, with flaggers directing traffic as needed. Motorists can expect delays, and alternate routes include High Drive and Bernard Street.

Pedestrian detours will be in place during sidewalk obstructions to maintain safety. These projects aim to improve infrastructure and minimize service disruptions, contributing to long-term community benefits. Completion of the South Freya project is anticipated by late October.
