Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

A tragic accident involving an electric scooter led to the death of a male passenger in Spokane on July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a. m. The passenger fell into the roadway after the scooter's operator lost balance, resulting in a collision with a northbound semi-truck. Despite efforts from emergency personnel to save him, the victim died at the scene. The truck driver, who stopped to render aid, did not exhibit signs of impairment and cooperated fully with law enforcement.

Investigators closed the area for several hours to conduct their inquiry. The name of the deceased will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Electric scooters have gained popularity in urban areas, raising safety concerns. Local officials may consider new regulations for scooter usage in response to such incidents.
