Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will experience traffic disruptions starting July 21 as two construction projects commence on South Freya St. and South Lincoln St. The South Freya project replaces over 3,000 feet of water main and includes repairs to the street surface and ADA-compliant curb ramps. Motorists should expect closures and detours, with Hartson Ave. , South Ray St.

, and East 29th Ave. serving as alternative routes. Local access will remain available for residents despite the closures. In parallel, the Lincoln St. project focuses on rehabilitating swale plantings, with crews removing old plants and replacing them with new ones throughout the summer.

Work will take place intermittently on weekdays, and flaggers will manage traffic when necessary, leading to potential delays. Pedestrian detours will also be in effect when sidewalks are obstructed. Both projects are part of ongoing efforts to improve Spokane's infrastructure, with completion expected by late October.
