A tragic incident occurred on July 19, 2025, when a male passenger fell from an electric scooter and was struck by a semi-truck in Spokane. The scooter was moving northbound on Division Street when the passenger lost his balance and fell into the roadway. Emergency responders arrived promptly and attempted life-saving measures, but the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The cooperative semi-truck driver displayed no signs of impairment during the investigation. Authorities closed the area for several hours to gather evidence and assess the situation.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased in due time. This incident highlights the potential dangers associated with electric scooters, particularly in urban areas.
