Three Construction Projects Begin Next Week
Spokane's Street Department plans to launch three significant grind and overlay projects on July 28, expected to last through November. The first project targets Sprague Avenue and Alki-Broadway Avenue, which will undergo rehabilitation, including ADA ramp upgrades. The second project will address Maple and Walnut Streets from 5th Avenue to the Maple Street Bridge, enhancing curb ramps and widening sidewalks. The final project will focus on Division Street from 4th to 7th Avenues, also involving lane closures. Traffic delays and slower speeds are anticipated across all work sites, and motorists should use detours where indicated.
Businesses affected by the construction will remain open, and the city encourages community support for these local establishments. These projects aim to improve road safety and accessibility, ensuring compliance with ADA standards. The construction updates can be tracked on the city's construction webpage for current obstruction information.
