Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane will begin two major improvement projects on July 21, significantly affecting traffic in the city. The South Freya St. project involves replacing more than 3,000 feet of water main and repairing street surfaces between 13th Ave. and 21st Ave. , while also installing new ADA-compliant curb ramps.

This section will close to motorists, with Hartson Ave. and south Ray St. designated as detours. Concurrently, South Lincoln St. will see rehabilitation of swale plantings, requiring flaggers to manage traffic and potential delays throughout the summer.

Local access will be maintained for residents during both projects. The Freya St. construction is expected to complete by late October, while Lincoln St. work will continue intermittently. The city urges motorists to plan ahead and support local businesses affected by the construction.
