A male passenger on an electric scooter died after being struck by a semi-truck in Spokane on July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:20 a. m. The accident occurred when the passenger lost his balance and fell into the roadway, leading to the collision. Emergency responders, including Spokane Fire, arrived promptly but could not save the man, who died at the scene. The semi-truck driver was cooperative and showed no signs of impairment, leading authorities to close the area for several hours to investigate.

The name of the deceased will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office in due course.
