Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

A tragic accident occurred in Spokane on July 19 when a 21-year-old male fell from an electric scooter and was struck by a semi-truck. The incident happened around 2:20 a. m. near Division and Dalton, where the scooter was being operated on the sidewalk. The driver of the semi-truck stopped and attempted to help the victim, but despite the efforts of law enforcement and Spokane Fire, the male died at the scene.

The truck driver displayed no signs of impairment and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities closed the area for several hours to conduct their inquiries. The identity of the deceased will be disclosed later by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Electric scooter safety remains a critical concern as such incidents can lead to severe consequences. This accident highlights the dangers associated with riding scooters on sidewalks in busy areas.
