Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

At approximately 2:20 AM on July 19, 2025, two males riding an electric scooter fell while traveling northbound near Division and Dalton in Spokane. The rear passenger fell into the roadway, where a semi-truck struck him. Despite the efforts of the truck driver and emergency responders, the passenger died at the scene. Spokane police confirmed that the truck driver showed no signs of impairment during the investigation. The area remained closed for several hours while law enforcement conducted their investigation.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the deceased’s name at a later date. Electric scooters have become increasingly popular in urban areas, raising concerns about safety regulations. This incident underscores the need for awareness and caution among electric scooter users and drivers alike.
