Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will begin several significant improvement projects on July 21, with notable impacts on traffic flow. The South Freya St. project involves closing the street from 13th Ave. to 21st Ave. for the replacement of over 3,000 feet of water main, along with street surface repairs and ADA-compliant curb ramps.

Hartson Ave. , South Ray St. , and East 29th Ave. will function as detours, while local access for residents remains a priority. Meanwhile, the South Lincoln St.

project will rehabilitate swale plantings between 19th Ave. and 29th Ave. , involving the removal and replacement of existing plants throughout the summer. Crews will work intermittently on weekdays, with flaggers managing traffic flow when necessary, which may lead to delays. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes such as High Drive and Bernard St.

Pedestrian detours will be in place when sidewalk access is obstructed, ensuring safety for foot traffic. These projects aim to improve infrastructure, benefiting the community in the long run.
