Underhill Sport Court Renovation Ribbon Cutting July 3, 10 a.m.

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will celebrate the completion of renovated sport courts at Underhill Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 3, 2025. The renovations included two basketball courts, two dedicated pickleball courts, new sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, and fence upgrades, all completed on budget and schedule. The project was funded by the City of Spokane Parks & Recreation, a matching grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office, and contributions from local sponsors. Youth players from the Spokane Eastside Reunion Association will help cut the ribbon, symbolizing community involvement. Parks & Recreation Director Garrett Jones noted that the upgrades respond to community demands for better-maintained parks.

The renovations aim to create functional and welcoming spaces for residents of all ages. If the November Parks & Recreation levy is approved, every sport court in Spokane could receive similar renovations, enhancing community resources. This initiative aligns with the city’s commitment to improve the health and quality of life for its residents.
