City of Spokane Announces New Deputy Police Ombuds
The City of Spokane hired Lissa Mascio as the new Deputy Police Ombuds after conducting a national search for qualified candidates. Mascio comes from New Hampshire, where she served as the Deputy and acting Legislative and Policy Director for the Office of the Child Advocate. Her legal experience includes prosecuting abuse and neglect cases and advocating for domestic violence victims. Police Ombuds Bart Logue emphasized her strong legal background and analytical skills, which will enhance police oversight in Spokane. Spokane Police Chief Kevin Hall voiced his enthusiasm for Mascio's commitment to public service and her potential to foster trust between the police department and the community.
Detective Dave Dunkin from the Spokane Police Guild also commended Mascio's selection, highlighting the quality of candidates considered.
