SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Police have probable cause to arrest Chad Horne, 37, for 2nd Degree Arson following a series of intentionally set fires on July 8, 2025. Investigators last spotted him near Walmart in Spokane Valley, and he may have changed clothes. Authorities urge anyone with information on Horne’s whereabouts to call 911. He also has an unrelated warrant for domestic violence, complicating the situation. Four structures were intentionally set on fire, including a fire at My Fresh Basket and a vehicle charging station.

Fortunately, no injuries occurred, though the fires raised concerns due to hot, dry weather conditions. The police continue to gather evidence at multiple crime scenes and seek any relevant surveillance footage. These incidents highlight the urgency of community vigilance in fire prevention efforts.
