SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Police apprehended Chad Horne, 37, for 2nd Degree Arson following a series of deliberately set fires on July 8, 2025. Horne was located just before 7:00 p. m. in the Liberty Lake area after police received tips from the public. He was previously wanted for an unrelated domestic violence charge and had last been seen near a Walmart in Spokane Valley.

The fires, which damaged four structures, prompted an urgent warning given the region's hot, dry weather conditions. No injuries were reported, but the incidents raised significant public concern. Police are actively investigating the arson events and gathering evidence from multiple scenes. They continue to seek any surveillance footage that might assist in the investigation. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
