Her diverse background includes prosecuting serious crimes and advocating for domestic violence victims, which equips her for her new role. Police Ombuds Bart Logue highlighted her unanimous selection due to her legal expertise and oversight capabilities. Spokane Police Chief Kevin Hall emphasized the importance of Mascio's role in strengthening community trust.
