SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Police arrested Chad Horne in Liberty Lake shortly before 7:00 p. m. on July 9, 2025, in connection with a series of arson incidents. Earlier updates indicated that police had established probable cause for Horne's arrest for 2nd Degree Arson after he was spotted near a Wal-Mart in Spokane Valley. Horne, 37, was wanted for multiple intentionally set fires reported on July 8, which included damage to structures and vehicles.

Authorities noted that he had an unrelated warrant for domestic violence at the time of his arrest. The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating the arsons, which raised public concern due to dry weather conditions. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the fires. Police continue to seek information from the public, urging anyone with leads or surveillance footage to call 911. Horne's arrest marks a significant step in addressing the recent surge of arson incidents in the area.
