Spokane has appointed Lissa Mascio as the new Deputy Police Ombuds following a nationwide search for candidates. Mascio comes from New Hampshire, where she served as the Deputy and acting Legislative and Policy Director for the Office of the Child Advocate. She has a robust background in child welfare and law enforcement, having prosecuted serious cases and represented victims of domestic violence. Police Ombuds Bart Logue emphasized her unanimous selection, citing her legal expertise and investigative skills as vital for the position.
