SPD Investigates Several Intentionally Set Fires

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Police took Chad Horne, 37, into custody in the Liberty Lake area on July 9, 2025, after a search for his involvement in several arson cases. Horne was last spotted near a Walmart in Spokane Valley and is wanted for 2nd Degree Arson as well as an unrelated domestic violence charge. His connection to multiple intentionally set fires on July 8 raised alarms in the community, as four separate structures were targeted in quick succession. Thankfully, no injuries occurred, but the situation is alarming given the prevailing hot and dry weather conditions in the region. The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is actively collecting evidence and pursuing leads related to the fires.

Investigators have urged anyone with relevant surveillance footage or information to come forward. Fire safety remains a pressing concern, particularly with the forecasted weather. Authorities emphasize the importance of community vigilance in preventing future incidents.
