Underhill Sport Court Renovation Ribbon Cutting July 3, 10 a.m.

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will inaugurate renovated sport courts at Underhill Park on July 3, 2025, at 10 a. m. , featuring local dignitaries and youth basketball players. The renovation included two basketball courts and two dedicated pickleball courts, along with upgraded sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping. The project, completed on budget and schedule, received funding from the City of Spokane Parks & Recreation, a state grant, and local sponsors, including Spokane Hoopfest Association and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Garrett Jones, director of Parks & Recreation, noted that community feedback highlighted the need for better-maintained parks. If the November Parks & Recreation levy passes, every sports court in the city could receive a full renovation. This initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing the functionality and safety of neighborhood parks, ensuring they serve all ages and abilities. Underhill Park’s renovation is part of a broader effort to improve community recreational spaces across Spokane. The project aligns with the City’s Master Plan outreach, aimed at making parks more welcoming and accessible.
