City of Spokane Announces New Deputy Police Ombuds
The City of Spokane has appointed Lissa Mascio as its new Deputy Police Ombuds, following a national search to fill the position. Mascio arrives from New Hampshire, where she served as the Deputy and acting Legislative and Policy Director for the Office of the Child Advocate, focusing on child welfare. Her professional background includes prosecuting abuse and neglect cases and advocating for victims of domestic violence and other offenses. Police Ombuds Bart Logue highlighted Mascio's strong legal experience, particularly in corrections and law enforcement oversight, which will benefit Spokane's police accountability efforts. Spokane Police Chief Kevin Hall praised her commitment to public service and her ability to foster community trust.
Mascio's legal acumen and advocacy for vulnerable populations are expected to enhance police oversight in the city. She holds a B.
