The initial fire erupted just after midnight in front of the Red Wagon, followed by a series of blazes, including two homes burning on S. Sherman Street. Firefighters, with assistance from Spokane County Fire Districts and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, contained multiple brush fires, one of which prompted a Level 3 Evacuation Order. Fortunately, no injuries occurred, and evacuees returned home by early evening.

The Spokane Police Department and the DNR are leading the investigation into the causes of these fires, asking for public help in identifying potential suspects.
