Pedestrian and Bike Improvement Projects Begin Next Week

Spokane, WALocal News

Beginning June 30, Spokane will implement two significant pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects, targeting Lincoln St. and Maxwell Ave. The Lincoln St. project will take place between W. Boone Ave.

and W. Sinto Ave. , featuring buffered bike lanes, widened sidewalks, and a new signal at Lincoln and Broadway Ave. In contrast, the Maxwell Ave. improvements will enhance connectivity to AM Cannon Park and the West Central Community Center.

Both projects will result in road closures and detours, with local residential access and business accessibility ensured. The upgrades on Maxwell Ave. are supported by funding from Washington's Climate Commitment Act, which aims to reduce climate pollution and enhance public health. Motorists can expect traffic delays and should plan alternate routes during peak hours. The City urges residents to support local businesses affected by the construction.

Detailed obstruction information is available on the city's construction webpage.
