Underhill Sport Court Renovation Ribbon Cutting July 3, 10 a.m.

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will cut the ribbon on the renovated sport courts at Underhill Park on July 3, 2025, at 10 a. m. The upgrades, which include two renovated basketball courts and two dedicated pickleball courts, were completed on time and within budget. Funding sources for the project include the City of Spokane Parks & Recreation, a matching grant from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office, and generous support from local sponsors like Spokane Hoopfest Association and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Youth players from the Spokane Eastside Reunion Association will help cut the ribbon during the event.

If the Parks & Recreation levy is approved by voters in November, every sport court in Spokane will receive similar renovations to enhance community facilities. Parks & Recreation Director Garrett Jones noted that the community expressed a desire for better-maintained parks, highlighting the importance of such projects for neighborhood engagement. The park system encompasses nearly 120 properties across 4,000 acres, aiming to improve community health and quality of life. The renovations at Underhill Park serve as a model for future improvements across the city.
