Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane will launch a $3. 25 million water transmission main project on July 7, aiming to improve water reliability and support future growth in the northwest area. This initiative will impact traffic at the intersection of Francis Ave. and Assembly St. , where temporary traffic signals will be installed.

Northbound Assembly St. will be closed between Rowan Ave. and Francis Ave. /Hwy 291, while southbound Assembly St. will close from Francis Ave.

/Hwy 291 to Rowan Ave. Access to the Dwight Merkel Complex will be maintained via Rowan Ave. The project will unfold in three phases, with completion expected by November 2025. Motorists should anticipate detours and allow extra travel time. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance water, sewer, stormwater, and traffic infrastructure in the region.
