Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane's infrastructure project will commence on July 7, 2025, focusing on traffic disruptions on west Francis Ave. /Highway 291 and north Assembly St. The city plans to install a new water transmission main to connect the Low Water Pressure System with the Northwest Terrace Water Pressure System, enhancing water reliability. This $3. 25 million initiative will unfold in three phases, with the first phase targeting completion by November 2025.

Significant road closures will occur, including northbound Assembly St. between Rowan Ave. and Francis Ave. , and southbound Assembly St. between Francis Ave.

and Rowan Ave. Temporary traffic signals will be implemented to manage rerouted traffic effectively. A noise variance permits work from 6 a. m. to 6 p.

m. , Monday through Saturday, to expedite progress. Future phases will include additional closures on N. Royal Dr. , W.

Lyons Ave. , and W. Woodside Ave. This project not only aims to improve water infrastructure but also supports local businesses during the construction.
