Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane's $3. 25 million water system upgrade will commence on July 7, affecting traffic on west Francis Ave. /Highway 291 and north Assembly St. Motorists should anticipate detours due to closures on both directions of Assembly St. between Rowan Ave.

and Francis Ave. Temporary traffic signals will manage rerouted traffic flows at the Francis Ave. and Assembly St. intersection. This initiative aims to enhance water reliability and accommodate future growth, with the entire project set for completion by November 2025.

Phase one will start at the Francis Ave. /Hwy 291 junction and extend to Rifle Club Rd. , with residential street and intersection closures along the route. A noise variance allows work to occur between 6 a. m.

and 6 p. m. , Monday through Saturday. Future phases will see additional closures on N. Royal Dr.

, W. Lyons Ave. , and W. Woodside Ave.
