Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection

Spokane's major water system upgrade begins July 7, affecting traffic on Francis Ave. and Assembly St. Motorists should plan for detours and delays as temporary traffic signals will manage traffic flow at the intersection. The project involves installing a new water transmission main to enhance water reliability for the Northwest Terrace Water Pressure System. Phase one starts at the junction of Francis Ave.

/Hwy 291, progressing west to Rifle Club Rd. , and will include street closures. The initiative aims to support future growth and improve overall infrastructure in the area. The project is expected to cost $3. 25 million and be completed by November 2025.

Residents are encouraged to support local businesses impacted by construction. A noise variance allows work from 6 a. m. to 6 p. m.

Monday through Saturday.
