Water System Project Will Impact Northwest Intersection
Spokane's water system upgrade commences on July 7, impacting traffic on west Francis Ave. /Highway 291 and north Assembly St. Motorists are advised to plan for detours and delays due to temporary traffic signals at critical intersections. Northbound Assembly St. will close between Rowan Ave. and Francis Ave. /Hwy 291, while southbound Assembly St. will close between Francis Ave.
/Hwy 291 and Rowan Ave. Access to the Dwight Merkel Complex will still be available via Rowan Ave. A noise variance permits construction work from 6 a. m. to 6 p.
m. Monday through Saturday. Future phases will also lead to closures on N. Royal Dr. , W.
Lyons Ave. , and W. Woodside Ave. This infrastructure project represents a crucial step in enhancing Spokane's water, sewer, stormwater, and traffic systems.
