Pedestrian and Bike Improvement Projects Begin Next Week

The City of Spokane will initiate two pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects on June 30, with an expected completion date in October. The Lincoln St. project will close a portion of Lincoln St. from Boone Ave. to Sinto Ave.

, featuring new bike lanes, widened sidewalks, and a new traffic signal at Broadway Ave. Motorists can expect detours and longer travel times, especially during peak hours. Concurrently, the Maxwell Ave. project will enhance bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, funded by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act. This funding aims to reduce climate pollution and improve public health.

Both projects will maintain local residential access and ensure that businesses remain open. Residents are encouraged to support local businesses affected by the construction. The city provides current obstruction information on its construction webpage to assist drivers.
