Flags Lowered for Former Secretary of State Ralph Munro

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in memory of former Secretary of State Ralph Munro. This directive follows Governor Bob Ferguson's similar order for state and U. S. flags at agency facilities. Munro, who played a pivotal role in Washington's political landscape, passed away on March 20, 2025.

Mayor Brown, who served alongside Munro in the legislature, expressed her admiration for him as a statesman and public servant. The memorial service will take place on June 28 at 2 p. m. at the Washington State Capitol Legislative Building Rotunda. Lowering the flags serves as a tribute to Munro’s significant contributions to the state.

This acknowledgment highlights the importance of honoring those who serve in public office. The community remembers Munro's legacy during this time of reflection and mourning.
