Firefighters arrived within ten minutes at West Thorpe Road, discovering a grass and brush fire under an acre in size. They quickly engaged the fire with support from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and Spokane County Fire District 10. The fire was under control within an hour, with crews proceeding to mop up hot spots.
