The fire, located in the 2900 block of West Thorpe Road, burned under an acre in a timbered area. Local crews from the Spokane Fire Department, supported by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources and Spokane County Fire District 10, engaged the fire quickly, achieving containment within an hour. The cause of the fire is under investigation and is considered suspicious, prompting an appeal for information on a dark-colored Ford Ranger seen leaving the area shortly after the fire was reported.
