, will close part of the street until September while introducing buffered bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and a new traffic signal. Traffic delays and detours are expected, with alternate routes advised for motorists. Meanwhile, the Maxwell Ave. project will improve connectivity to community hubs like AM Cannon Park and the West Central Community Center, with completion anticipated in October. Both initiatives are funded in part by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, which aims to reduce climate pollution and enhance public health.
