Pedestrian and Bike Improvement Projects Begin Next Week

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's City officials will launch two pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects on June 30, 2025, aimed at enhancing local infrastructure. The Lincoln St. project will close the road between W. Boone Ave. and W.

Sinto Ave. , lasting through September, and will introduce buffered bike lanes and a new traffic signal. Motorists will be redirected via north Monroe St. and other routes, anticipating slower speeds and traffic delays. Concurrently, the Maxwell Ave.

project will upgrade sidewalks and bike lanes from Pettet Dr. to Walnut St. , supported by funding from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, which aims to reduce climate pollution. This project will connect the West Central Neighborhood to key local facilities, with completion expected in October. Local residential access will be maintained during both projects, and businesses will remain accessible.

Residents are urged to support those impacted by the construction. The projects reflect the City’s commitment to improving public health and promoting sustainable transportation options.
