City Closures Planned for Juneteenth
Spokane City Hall and several public services will close on June 19 to observe Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, all Spokane Public Library branches, and the Development Services Center will also be closed. While on-street parking meters will not require payment, all parking regulations, including time limits, remain enforced. Essential services such as garbage, recycling, and food waste collection will operate as usual. Spokane City Council plans to meet on June 23 for an agenda review and legislative meeting.
Spokane 311 will provide customer service support on Juneteenth. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will remain open, along with city golf courses and splash pads. Community events celebrating Juneteenth are also available for residents.
