City Closures Planned for Juneteenth
Spokane City Hall will close on June 19 to observe Juneteenth, a federal holiday celebrating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Additional closures include the Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, and all Spokane Public Library branches. On-street parking meters will not require payment, but all parking regulations, such as time limits, will still apply. Garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will continue on their regular schedule, ensuring residents have essential services during the holiday. Spokane City Council plans to meet on June 23, with meetings broadcast on CityCable 5 and streamed online.
Spokane 311 will provide phone and online customer service inquiries on Juneteenth. Riverfront Park attractions, including the Looff Carrousel and Numerica SkyRide, will operate normally, as will city golf courses and splash pads.
