Spokane City Hall and several municipal services will close on Juneteenth, June 19, 2025, in observance of the federal holiday that celebrates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. The Spokane Municipal Court, Community Justice Services, all Spokane Public Library branches, and the Development Services Center will also be closed on this date. While on-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment, it is important to note that all parking regulations, including time limits, will remain in effect. Garbage, recycling, and food & yard waste services will continue on their normal schedules. The Waste-to-Energy facility and Spokane County’s transfer stations will operate as usual.

Spokane City Council is scheduled to meet on June 23, with a 3:30 p. m. agenda. This observance reflects the city's commitment to recognizing significant historical events. The closures aim to honor the importance of Juneteenth in American history.
