New Snoqualmie Waste Management Contract Begins June 1

Snoqualmie's new contract with Waste Management, effective June 1, 2025, introduces enhanced garbage, recycling, and yard waste services following City Council approval in August 2024. Residents will benefit from expanded cart sizes, including 45-gallon and 1. 5-yard options, and one free extra yard waste collection for single-family homes. The average residential price will increase by 39% compared to the previous contract established in 2012, driven by record inflation and rising living costs. The new contract also includes bulky waste collections for an additional fee and unlimited recycling for commercial customers.

Waste Management will deploy new trucks featuring advanced technology to improve service efficiency across all city streets and alleys. The updated rates remain competitive with other nearby cities like Sammamish and Kirkland, which have also adopted new solid waste contracts.
