Pedestrian Access Project Advances on North Bend Way

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

A new project to enhance pedestrian access along North Bend Way is underway, with crews constructing a sidewalk that connects the Snoqualmie Valley Trail to Tanner Road. This initiative aligns with the city’s ongoing efforts to improve walkability and safety, providing residents with a more convenient means of transportation. Funded by a Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant under the 2024 Sidewalk Gaps initiative, the project addresses crucial gaps in the existing pedestrian infrastructure. Most of the construction will take place on the shoulder of North Bend Way, and residents should be aware of potential single-lane closures as traffic control measures are implemented to minimize disruptions. The city expects to complete the sidewalk by early September 2024, and an adjacent project—the Cedar Falls Way sidewalk—is already open for public use, inviting residents to experience the newly improved area.

Community members are encouraged to engage with the project and can direct inquiries to Project Engineer Mike Mayen via email. Additionally, residents can stay informed about ongoing transportation projects and city updates by subscribing to the "Notify Me" service on the City of North Bend’s website. This service allows users to receive notifications on topics of interest, ensuring they remain connected to local developments.
