Snoqualmie, WALocal News

North Bend residents will have the opportunity to meet Chief of Police finalists on November 17 from 6 to 8 p. m. at City Hall. This public open house is part of the city's process to engage the community as it prepares to contract police services with the King County Sheriff’s Office beginning in spring 2026. Attendees can ask questions and provide impressions of the candidates, fostering transparency in the hiring process.

The following day, November 18, finalists will interview with panels consisting of city council members, staff, and community representatives. Feedback from these panels will inform Mayor Miller and City Administrator Amber Emery's decision on a preferred candidate. The city expects to announce the new Police Chief in early December, signaling a pivotal change in local law enforcement. This transition highlights the city's commitment to involving community voices in public safety discussions. Engaging residents in this process underscores the importance of community trust in law enforcement.
