Police Investigate Late-Night Burglaries in Occupied Homes, Chief Lynch Addresses Community Concerns

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

On September 22, 2024, the Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Department began investigating two burglaries of occupied homes in North Bend, raising concerns in the community. The first incident occurred early in the morning at a home on Bandara Avenue SE, where the homeowner found their first floor ransacked after hearing no disturbances. Shortly after, a second burglary was reported nearby, with the intruder gaining access through an open garage door, likely facilitated by stolen garage door openers from previous car prowls. Police Chief Brian Lynch reassured residents that no contact was made between the suspect and the homeowners, but he urged everyone to secure their properties. The investigation is ongoing, with officers reviewing security camera footage of a suspicious Dodge Ram truck spotted in the vicinity.

Chief Lynch provided safety recommendations, including keeping doors locked and maintaining good visibility around homes. To further protect the community, police have increased patrols, employing a random patrol tactic to disrupt potential criminal patterns. The department encourages residents to report any suspicious activity, reinforcing their motto that "No Call Is Too Small.
