Police Investigate Late-Night Burglaries in Occupied Homes, Chief Lynch Addresses Community Concerns

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The Snoqualmie-North Bend Police Department is investigating two burglaries that occurred in occupied homes on September 22, 2024, in North Bend, raising concerns among local residents. The first incident took place in the Tannerwood neighborhood, where a homeowner discovered their first floor ransacked while they slept upstairs. Shortly after, another burglary was reported less than a mile away, with the homeowner alerted by a security app about their garage door being opened. Chief Brian Lynch indicated that stolen garage door openers from five reported car prowls were likely used to facilitate the break-ins. He reassured the community that there is currently no evidence suggesting an increased safety risk from the theft of a firearm during one of the burglaries.

Residents were encouraged to take proactive measures to secure their homes and vehicles, with recommendations including trimming shrubbery for visibility and keeping lights on outdoors. The police are also reviewing video footage showing a suspicious Dodge Ram truck in the vicinity, though the suspects remain unidentified. In response to the burglaries, the police have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance and deter further criminal activity.
