City of Snoqualmie Launches Virtual Citizens Academy

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The City of Snoqualmie has launched the Virtual Citizens Academy, an innovative online program designed to engage and educate residents about city government. The academy consists of 12 informative videos covering various aspects of municipal operations, featuring presentations from the mayor, city administrator, and department directors, along with facility tours and drone footage. Although there have been personnel changes since the videos were released in 2020, the fundamental principles of municipal governance remain unchanged. Participants who complete all modules will receive a Certificate of Completion, officially recognizing them as City of Snoqualmie Ambassadors. This initiative aims to increase public awareness of local governance and encourages active community participation.

The academy serves as a valuable resource for families, providing a comprehensive understanding of local government functions. By educating residents, the program seeks to cultivate informed citizens who can contribute meaningfully to their community, exemplifying the city's commitment to transparency and citizen engagement.
