Heat Advisory Issued for Parts of Washington State

The National Weather Service has issued an urgent heat advisory for portions of northwest and west central Washington, set to take effect from 8 AM on Thursday and lasting until 11 PM on Friday. The forecast predicts high temperatures in the mid 80s to mid 90s, significantly increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. This advisory particularly affects sensitive populations, such as young children and pets, who should not be left unattended in vehicles. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, remain indoors in air-conditioned environments, and avoid direct sunlight. For those who must work outdoors, it is advised to adjust schedules to early morning or evening to avoid the worst heat.
