** Wrong-Way Collision on I-90 Claims Life of Yakima Woman, Injures Ellensburg Man

A head-on collision on Interstate 90 near North Bend claimed the life of a 69-year-old woman from Yakima and left a 31-year-old man from Ellensburg injured. The woman was reportedly driving eastbound in the westbound lanes when the accident occurred, leading to a significant impact that damaged both vehicles severely. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene, while the man was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The Washington State Patrol reported that both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Investigators closed the roadway for approximately two hours and 52 minutes to gather evidence and assess the situation.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, with officials looking into whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
