Snoqualmie Mill Planned Commercial/Industrial Plan Approved by City Council

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

The Snoqualmie Mill Planned Commercial/Industrial Plan is an ambitious initiative aimed at transforming a 261-acre site, formerly a lumber mill, into a thriving area for commercial and industrial activities. This site has been largely vacant since its annexation by the City of Snoqualmie in September 2012, which occurred without any monetary exchange. In October 2022, the City Council approved both the Development Agreement and the Planned Commercial/Industrial Plan, establishing a framework for future development. The planning process emphasized public engagement, with hearings held to gather community feedback and assess environmental impacts. A Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) was affirmed by the Hearing Examiner, supporting the project's viability and recommending it for council approval.

This redevelopment is projected to bring economic benefits to Snoqualmie over the next 10 to 15 years while addressing local concerns regarding environmental sustainability. The plan sets a precedent for responsible development in the region, aiming to create a balanced approach to growth and reinforcing the city's commitment to fostering a thriving community that respects ecological values.
