New Beacon Crosswalks Set to Enhance Safety in North Bend

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

North Bend is set to enhance pedestrian safety with the introduction of rapid flashing beacon crosswalks at key intersections this fall. The new rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) will alert drivers to slow down and stop, ensuring safer crossings for both local residents and trail users. Installation will begin on October 28, 2024, at the intersection of Ballarat Avenue N and the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, with further installations planned at Mt. Si Road and E North Bend Way throughout the following week. These improvements aim to increase pedestrian safety and enhance connectivity between Si View Park and downtown North Bend.

While drivers can expect occasional road closures near construction sites, most work will not significantly disrupt traffic. This initiative reflects North Bend's proactive approach to enhancing transportation safety for all users, and community members are encouraged to stay informed about project updates and potential impacts on their daily commutes.
