Free Storm Yard Waste Disposal at Select King County Transfer Stations

Snoqualmie, WALocal News

In response to the recent windstorm, King County is providing residents with a free disposal service for woody yard debris, including tree limbs and branches. This initiative, announced by King County Executive Dow Constantine, began on November 23, 2024. Residents can take advantage of this service at select recycling and transfer stations without incurring the standard yard waste fee. Participating locations include Bow Lake, Cedar Falls, Enumclaw, Factoria, Shoreline, and Vashon. The service is limited to storm-related debris, with specific restrictions on accepted items—grass clippings and soil will not be accepted.

Each facility has guidelines focused on stumps and limbs no longer than six feet in length. This initiative aims to help residents effectively manage the aftermath of the storm while promoting environmental responsibility. Residents are advised to secure their loads when visiting the transfer stations to ensure safe transport.
