The Opioid Overdose and Emergency Reversal Training, scheduled for November 6, 2024, at Mount Si High School, will provide essential skills to parents of 6-12 grade students. Conducted by Volunteer EMT Robert Angrisano, the session will run from 6 PM to 7 PM in the school's Career Center. This timely training addresses the alarming rise in opioid overdoses, equipping parents with the knowledge to recognize overdose signs and administer life-saving interventions. The initiative underscores the community's commitment to combatting the opioid crisis, which has deeply affected many families. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning, enhancing their confidence in emergency situations.
By fostering an informed parent community, this program aims to mitigate the risks associated with opioid use among youth. The training not only empowers parents but also encourages collaboration between families and local health services. Engaging in such educational opportunities is crucial for building a proactive response to public health challenges in the region.
